Concentrate production by Central Alborz Coal Company

 

Concentrate production by Central Alborz Coal Company in the northern Iranian province of Mazandaran will increase.

 

Hossein Motesadi added this will happen after mining activities begin at Goliran and Kordabad mines in the same province.

He said the company plans to produce 150,000 tons of coal concentrate in the year to March 2020.

Motesadi noted that consultations have been held to obtain permit for performing exploration activities in Central Alborz region, Mazandaran Province, new area which is home to 21 million tons of coal reserves.

He put his company’s coal concentrate production capacity at 500,000 tons, adding however, the firm currently produces 200,000 tons of the product.

“After extraction begins in Goliran and Kordabad mines, the company will be able to operate at its full production capacity.”

He added part of the equipment installed in the company’s coal preparation plant has been purchased from domestic producers, saying the firm imports some of its required equipment and facilities.

Motesadi added a list of the region’s small mines has been compiled.

He said the company has helped create 250 direct jobs, putting the total number of people working directly and indirectly in the Central Alborz region at 5,000.

Motesadi noted that the amount of coal reserves in the Central Alborz region reaches 200 million tons, adding the proven reserves of Goliran and Kordabad mines stand at 57 million tons and 21 million tons respectively.
